What web design actually costs in Niagara

We publish every price we charge. That is easy to say and hard to check, because almost nobody else in this market publishes anything — so there is nothing to check it against. This page is our attempt to fix that: a written record of what we found when we went looking for other agencies' rates, what the published industry guides say a Canadian small business should expect to pay, and how our own catalog compares against both.

It is a report, not a sales page. Where the comparison flatters us we show the arithmetic so you can redo it. Where it does not — and there is one place it does not — we say so in the same size type.

Every figure on this page was checked August 18, 2026.

How we gathered this

We searched, we did not survey
Nobody was phoned, and no quote was requested under a false name. Everything here is a price a business chose to publish, or a range a published pricing guide states. That is a narrower question than 'what do they charge' — an agency that quotes privately may quote well below or well above anything on this page.
Agency names and their URLs are withheld together
We have not seen anyone's contract, and a link to a firm's pricing page names it as surely as writing the name would. So the five profiles below are anonymous and carry no link. What each one does carry is the kind of source the figure came from and the date we checked it.
Industry ranges are cited in full
The market ranges are a different kind of source: published pricing guides aimed at buyers, not a rival's price list. Those are linked, dated and quoted as ranges. Note that most of them are published by agencies, which is a reason to read them as indicative rather than neutral.
Our own prices come from our live catalog
Every Paragon figure on this page is read from the same catalog that prices the rest of the site. Nothing is typed in here by hand, so this page cannot quietly fall out of step with what we actually charge.
Checked once, on one day
Every figure was checked on August 18, 2026. Published prices change without notice. Treat anything here as a snapshot of that date and re-check before you rely on it.

The finding, before the numbers

Searching for Niagara web design pricing on August 18, 2026 surfaced 17 firms serving or marketing to the region. 3 of them showed a number anywhere without asking for contact details first. 1 published complete package pricing — a build fee and a monthly fee for each tier, visible before you talk to anyone.

The other fourteen answer the question with a quote form. That is a legitimate way to sell — scope really does vary, and a fixed price on a page cannot know what your site needs. It is also the reason a local business owner cannot compare two agencies without spending a week on calls, and the reason this page exists.

Everything side by side

Published prices and total cost of ownership, checked August 18, 2026. Agency names and their source links are withheld together; the published guides are linked in full.

What the published guides say to budget — These bands add published standalone retainers together. The low end is every published minimum stacked and the high end is every published maximum stacked, so the band is very wide — no single provider quotes the sum of several specialists, and a small local business would normally sit near the bottom of it. Read the band as the range a business faces buying each piece separately, not as a quote anyone would issue.

Service by service

The build

Our published price: $299 one-time

  • Website build, one-time — Ontario small service business: $1,000–$3,000 (Ontario 2026 small-business website pricing guide, checked 2026-08-18) The same guide puts the wider Ontario range at roughly $800 to $10,000+ once complexity, booking systems and integrations are added.
  • Website build, one-time — Canada, standard business site: $3,500–$5,000 (Canadian 2026 small-business website cost guide, checked 2026-08-18) The same guide puts a basic site from about $1,500 and an advanced or custom build at $6,000–$10,000+.

A one-time build fee against two published build ranges. The ranges cover a five-to-ten page informational site, which is the same shape of job — but a range is not a quote, and the low end of any range is a simpler site than the high end.

Care and maintenance

Our published price: $99 setup + $50/month

  • Website care and maintenance — Ontario small service business: $100–$150/month (Ontario 2026 small-business website pricing guide, checked 2026-08-18) Stated as the ongoing budget alongside the build, covering hosting, updates, security and small fixes. That is $1,200–$1,800 a year.

This is the line that compounds, so it is the one worth comparing hardest. Ours includes three content changes a month; the published range describes hosting, updates, security and small fixes, and does not state whether edits are included. Where they are not, per-edit invoices sit on top of the figure.

Google Business Profile

Our published price: $200 setup + $179/month

  • Google Business Profile management — North America, per profile: $125–$400/month (Google Business Profile management pricing guide, checked 2026-08-18) Google charges nothing for the listing itself. Every dollar in this range is agency time, content and reporting.

The listing more people see than the website. Google charges nothing for it — the whole range, ours included, is the cost of somebody keeping categories, service areas, posts, photos, reviews and Q&A current.

Local SEO

Our published price: $300 setup + $299/month

  • Local SEO retainer — Canada, small and growing businesses: $500–$2,500/month (Canadian 2026 local SEO pricing guide, checked 2026-08-18) The same guide notes contracts usually run 6–12 months and that traction typically appears around months three to six.

The widest range on the page, because 'local SEO' covers everything from a monthly citation check to a multi-location content programme. The published guide and our own service page agree on the timeline: movement generally shows between months three and six, and anyone quoting faster is guessing.

Social media

Our published price: $250 setup + $199/month

  • Social media management, organic — Canada, small business: $500–$3,000/month (Canadian 2026 social media management pricing guide, checked 2026-08-18) Broken down as roughly $500–$1,500/month for a freelancer and $1,500–$5,000/month for a boutique agency.

Compare post counts before you compare prices. A four-post month and a twenty-post month are both sold as 'social media management', and the published band spans both.

Google Ads management

Our published price: $250 setup + $500/month

  • Google Ads management fee — Canada, excluding ad spend: 10–20% of ad spend, or $500–$2,500/month flat (Canadian 2026 Google Ads pricing guide, checked 2026-08-18) Fees of 10–30% are quoted across the market, usually with a monthly minimum. Ad spend is separate and goes to Google.

Ours is a flat monthly management fee. The published alternative is a percentage of spend, which costs less on a small budget and more on a large one — work out which side of the crossover your budget sits on before comparing the headline numbers.

What it costs over 12 and 36 months

A build fee on its own is the least useful number in this market, because it says nothing about what the next three years cost. Below is setup plus the monthly fee, multiplied out, for every package we sell and for the published ranges that cover the same work.

The working is shown in every row so you can check it: the total is the one-time fee plus the number of months times the monthly fee. Nothing else is in it — no tax, no ad spend, no domain registration.

Total cost of ownership, with the working shown. Excludes tax, ad spend and domain registration.

The five profiles, in full

Niagara Agency A

Productised small-business websites, sold in three fixed tiers with a St. Catharines landing page.

  • Entry tier: $599 one-time + $69/month — three pages (home, services, contact).
  • Middle tier: $1,995 one-time + $129/month — ten pages, on-page SEO, lead forms, analytics.
  • Top tier: from $2,995 one-time + $199/month — scoped to the job.

The only profile in this set that answers the whole question in public. The shape is the same one we use — a build fee plus a monthly that covers the ongoing work — which is worth noting: it is not an unusual way to sell, it is just an unusual thing to publish.

Niagara Agency B

Full-service studio covering most of the region's municipalities; websites, branding and marketing.

  • Website maintenance plans — updates, backups and security monitoring — starting at $99/month.
  • Build pricing: not published. Quote on request.

A care-plan price and nothing else. Useful, because the recurring line is the one that compounds — but it is 'starting at', so the number a given business is quoted may be higher, and there is no way to know what the build costs before you call.

Published on the agency's own site — one line only · checked 2026-08-18 · name and link withheld.

Niagara Agency C

WordPress design and development studio with in-house hosting.

  • Website maintenance and hosting from $49/month.
  • Build pricing: not published. Quote on request.

The lowest published recurring figure we found in the region. What that $49 covers is not stated on the page, which matters: hosting alone and hosting-plus-content-changes are different products at similar prices.

Published on the agency's own site — one line only · checked 2026-08-18 · name and link withheld.

Niagara Agency D

Long-established regional agency doing websites, SEO, e-commerce and paid media.

  • Hourly rate listed at $70–$150/hour by a third-party agency directory.
  • Its own pricing page gives budgeting ranges only, and routes to a form for an actual estimate.

An hourly rate is not a price for a website; it is a price for an hour. Without an estimate of hours it cannot be compared to a fixed build fee at all, which is the honest reading here.

Third-party agency directory listing · checked 2026-08-18 · name and link withheld.

Niagara Agency E

Boutique design studio positioned on custom work, branding and photography.

Does not publish pricing.

No figure anywhere — services, portfolio and a contact form. This is the majority position in the region, and it is why fourteen of the seventeen firms we found do not appear as numbers on this page.

No price published anywhere we could find · checked 2026-08-18 · name and link withheld.

Every published source we used

What this research does not show

  • No agency is named, and no source link points at one. We have not seen anyone's contract, and a published rate card is not a contract either. Naming a firm beside a number we cannot stand behind would be unfair to them and unreliable for you.
  • We did not open the source pages directly. Our research network blocked a direct fetch of every agency site and every pricing guide cited here, so all of it was read through a search index on the date shown. That is a weaker claim than having read the page, and it is why every figure carries a date rather than a full stop.
  • A quote-form agency may quote below or above every range here. Fourteen of the seventeen firms we found publish nothing, and their absence from these tables is not evidence about their prices — only about what they publish.
  • The published industry guides are mostly written by agencies. They are useful for orientation and they are not neutral. Treat a range from a guide as the shape of a market, not as a measurement of one.
  • Ranges are not like-for-like. Two agencies quoting $2,000 may be selling a five-page template and a ten-page custom build, and two care plans at the same price may differ entirely on whether content changes are included. Scope moves prices further than any agency's margin does.
  • Prices change without notice, ours included. Everything here was true on the date shown and may not be true when you read it.
  • Nothing on this page is a promise about results. It is a comparison of prices, and a price says nothing about whether a website works.
